Wedding planning answers

What is the best way to collect wedding guest addresses?

Ask each invitation household for a current mailing address, give them a private way to reply, and review their submission before you print envelopes. An old address book is a starting point, not confirmation.

Ask for the complete mailing address

Request the recipient’s name, street address, any apartment or unit number, city, state, and ZIP code. For example, “Apartment 4B” is part of the address, not an optional note. For international guests, allow the address to follow that country’s postal format rather than forcing it into US fields.

Send your request only to the people you intend to invite. A shared address-request link is not the same as a public guest-list page, and guests should not see anyone else’s answers.

Review and follow up

Mark each household as complete only when the address is usable. Follow up privately when a unit number or ZIP code is missing. Address validation can suggest corrections, but review them with the guest instead of assuming a suggested address is always the right one.

Before ordering envelopes, scan your list for duplicates and compare your missing-address count with the households you plan to mail.

Keep collection and formatting together

Yours Truly lets you request addresses, track missing replies, and review USPS validation suggestions alongside your invitation households. You can start a free event and organize up to 25 households before choosing a paid plan.
